ABOUT THE FLIGHT

You'll start in the air at 3000 feet. You will learn about the relationship of pitch and power, how to move the controls to make the airplane climb or descend, and how to use the instruments to tell if the airplane is climbing or descending.

KEY COMMANDS TO REMEMBER

F7 to extend the flaps 10 degrees; F6 to retract the flaps 10 degrees.

FLIGHT CRITERIA

You'll be asked to maintain:

  • Power settings within 100 RPM
  • Airspeed with 10 knots of your requested speed
  • Altitude assignments within 100 feet
  • Climbs and descents within 200 feet per minute
  • Bank within 5 degrees as assigned
